synopsis

Set in the fragile moments before displacement takes hold, Last Letters returns to the final moments when life is still recognisable, yet already slipping away. Through intimate testimonies and letters written to their younger selves, participants reflect on the assumptions, routines, and identities they carried before leaving without knowing when—or if—they would return.

The film lingers in memory, anticipation, and quiet rupture, inhabiting the psychological threshold where certainty dissolves, and the future remains unknowable. Rather than recounting departure as an event, Last Letters dwells in the suspended space just before everything changes.
